IMovie or WeVideo

While thinking about making my Digital Story, I am considering WeVideo and IMovie.  I have gone through a number of different tools to create my digital story and have narrowed it down to these two.

My questions are:

Which is more user friendly?
If I make my digital story on the IPad is there a way to transfer it to the PC so I can let kids view it on my Smart board?
Is there a different program you are using that you feel is better?

  1. If you're using an iPad, go with iMovie. It will cost you $1.99 for the app. You will be creating and editing with iMovie and then you will save your video in a format that will allow you to upload it to YouTube or Google Drive, and someone will be viewing the movie probably on YouTube or embedded in a blog or website like Blogger. Is YouTube blocked in your school? If not, I recommend using it for uploading your completed video. So, get the iMovie and play around with it. Note: it is a 2-step process. Almost like Animoto. You first create the video and then you save it in a particular file format. This will be explained in class. For this week, focus on the storyboard.

  2. I have used MovieMaker in the past and found it limited but user friendly. Now I have a Mac so I will use iMovie. I used iMovie years ago so I'm not sure how many changes have been made to the program. I have used tutorials before and many are quick and to the point which is really helpful. Good luck with your project!!
